Kelly Ripa, of "Live With Regis and Kelly," says she is happy to keep her day job, even though, if you want to get fussy about it, nobody really asked her to give it up for a better gig.
The New York Times reports, in "Talk Show Host Muses on Princesses and Strippers," by Anthony Ramirez, that, asked if she might have been interested in the slot on "Today" opened up by Katie Couric's departure for the "CBS Evening News," Ms. Ripa replied: "That's real work. That is, like, news and journalism, preparation, and you're there at 3:30 in the morning. That's not for me. Light, fluffy, spontaneous, that's what I do best."
