SLEEPING THROUGH HISTORY

There is a rather remarkable quote from actor Mark Wahlberg in Howard Gensler's column in today's Philadelphia Daily News:

At one point I had reservations on the 9-11 flight going from Boston to L.A. There were a bunch of us. . . . We were in first class. We certainly would have tried to do something. I try not to think about it. But how can you not think about it. I cancelled the reservation because we decided to drive to Toronto and fly from there. Then I woke up in the morning and read the papers and I couldn't believe it.

Can Wahlberg be the only American who learned of 9-11 in the next day's newspapers?
