OUTRAGE ON MARKET STREET

It's not enough for Septa to charge Philadelphians among the highest rates in the country for mass-transit services, now the cash-strapped agency has stooped to taking cash from Dunkin' Donuts, which has paid an as yet unknown price for the privilege of splashing a giant advertisement across the front of Septa's headquarters at 1234 Market St.

I saw the billboard-like banners being installed on Saturday. The result is an atrocious eyesore, and an act of aggression that we had better hope is never repeated upon this city's streetscape anytime soon.
